It's not just the destination that makes a trip enjoyable ... it's the journey!
Power Boat Owners - Let's say you own a power vessel in southwest Florida and want to spend some quality time with your family and friends on the water without having to drive. Maybe you just bought your first boat and never operated one before; or, you're new to the area and you're unfamiliar with the rivers, bays and inland waterways. You may have only boated on lakes before coming to the area and are unfamilair with the tides, running currents, sandbars and shoals on the Gordon or Marco Rivers. Did you ever consider hiring a professional mariner to teach you boat handling & piloting skills? Would you like one-on-one instruction on inspecting your vessel & USCG-required equipment, preparation prior to getting underway, boat handling, piloting, navigation, rules-of-the-road, special rules on the Gordon River and docking? Points of Interest - Whether you want to take your friends and family on a leisurely sightseeing cruise around Naples Bay; spend a few hours on an island beach shelling and swimming; take a ride down the inland waterway from Naples to Marco Island to have lunch at CJ's Gazebo Planning a Wedding? Religious or Civil ceremonies performed. For couples looking to get married on the water or on the beach, I can perform your ceremony. I am an Ordained Minister as well as a Florida Notary Public. Just provide a valid marriage license and you can be married by boat on the Gulf of Mexico or on the beach at sunset. I can also provide the vows! And check out my Links page for additional wedding services & local service providers available for your special day in southwest Florida.
Renters - Okay, so you don't own a boat. But, you're thinking of renting one. I can certainly pilot your rental boat for you! Looking for a rental boat.... check out RentbyBoater.com or a local marina such as Naples Bay Resort, Naples Watersports or the Freedom Boat Club. Some renters don’t feel comfortable driving an unfamiliar boat in unfamiliar waters while wondering if their family and friends are enjoying a fun day in the sun! They'd much rather join them for a cocktail or two but know that marine law enforcement is keeping an eye out for unsafe boaters & BUI's!
Bar or Guy Harvey's at the Esplanade, the Snook Inn or Stan’s. Maybe you’d rather spend a full-day cruising up the Southwest Florida coast to Captiva Island and eat at the Green Flash, to Ft. Myers Beach to have lunch at the Parrot Key Caribbean Grill or to the island of Cabbage Key where you can enjoy lunch while looking at 70,000 one dollar bills on the wall....
Don't have a Vessel? - M/V Maritime Lady (a 33' Sea Ray Sundancer) is now available to take you on a "private charter" for up to 6 passengers around Naples Bay, to Marco Island for lunch along the Intracoastal Waterway or up the coast on longer excustions. Naples Boat Charters began operations in January 2011 on Naples Bay offering private sightseeing tours, dolphin watches and sunset cruises for up to 6 people aboard the M/V Maritime Lady located at Naples Bay Resort Marina on 5th Ave. South in Naples, FL. Scattering of Ashes at Sea! I am available aboard your vessel or the Maritime Lady to perform a scattering of ashes of a loved one at sea. If interested in this service, please contact your local funeral home and ask for Captain Jim to assist you in providing this very personal service.
Whether by the hour, day, week or month, I am a mariner who believes that "Safety Comes First" and complying with the rules & regulations of Maritime Law should always be followed by courtesy, professional seamanship and attention to details. Please take a look at About Capt Jim.
